I
was brought up with dogs and started showing Afghan Hounds in the
early seventies with the KEVOCKLEA affix. My desire to show
something special drove me to find a Silver Blue Brindle dog and
Jorchants Kellei of Kevocklea came to stay. He was the first of
his colour to come to Scotland and we had a lot of fun together
winning 5 BIS award at Open shows 1 Challenge Certificate with
Best of Breed and 2 Reserve Challenge Certificates. He was a
dominant sire and had many winning progeny including the 1977
Crufts Best Puppy Dog the silver blue brindle KEVOCKLEA
HIGHLIGHTS.
The
next 15 years were taken up with raising children and the family
dogs were Jack Russell Terriers which we took to hunt and terrier
shows. The next step was to either get involved with Parson
Russells, as they were about to become recognised by the kennel
club, or become involved with dachshunds. We chose to have
Miniature Wire Haired Dachshund.
We
now live in the beautiful village of Roslin, Midlothian, Scotland
and have a small kennel of Miniature Wire Haired and Miniature
Smooth Haired dachshunds. Here I am striving to breed dogs that
conform to the breed standard and are fit for function. They are
outgoing with sound temperaments and are to the best of our
knowledge, free from any hereditary defects. All our dogs have the
relevant health checks.
